Margaret Shankle

Margaret McDowell Shankle, 94, of Norwood, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Bethany Woods in Albemarle.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Friday, August 28, 2020 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Norwood.  Rev. David Gaddy will officiate. 

Mrs. Shankle was born December 6, 1925 in Olanta, SC to the late Walter McDowell and Mamie Graham.  She was a member of East Macedonia Baptist Church and was a retiree of Albemarle Spinning Mills.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Lewis Shankle, Walter Frank Shankle, Jesse McDowell, and Mattie Robinson.

She is survived by her sons, Rickey Shankle and wife Veronica Morris Shankle of Albemarle, Richard Shankle and wife, Mary of Florida and daughter, Sylvia James and husband, Jonathan of Mooresville, NC; special granddaughter, Tamiko Miller and husband, Maurice of Mount Gilead; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
