Lynn Whitley

Rebecca Lynn Furr Whitley, 75, of Albemarle, passed away, Wednesday morning, February 7, 2024.

The family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, Sunday, February 11, 2024 at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood.  

Lynn was born December 9, 1948 in Stanly County to the late Gilford “BC” Furr and Marion Elizabeth ”Libby” Luther Furr.  She graduated from Kings College and was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She worked at Harris Teeter in Albemarle for 22 years, a job she really enjoyed.  She was so loved by her customers, that folks would stand in line to have her wait on them.  She made many friends in that 22 years and it never failed, that a trip to the beach or mountains, she would always see someone she knew.

Lynn loved her family.  She enjoyed celebrating birthdays and holidays with them.  She made each birthday for the grandchildren special by adding special words and pictures to each of their cards.  All holidays were made special by her clothing attire, she had shirts and earrings for each occasion.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh David Whitley.

She is survived by her sons, Jason E. Whitley(Linda) and Chris D. Whitley(Chastidy) all of Albemarle; grandchildren, Taylor Morris(Corey), Austin Whitley, Morgan Whitley( Jacob Garey) and Kendal Whitley; great grandchildren, Zane, Zander and Langston; brother, Eric Furr(Cindy)
