Lois Lentz Blalock 88 of Norwood died peacefully Sunday Morning, January 4, 2026 at Trinity Place.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at Mt. Zion Methodist Church, Norwood. Rev. Clint Lewey, Rev. Garry Baker and Tammy Blalock will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Tuesday evening at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood.
Lois was born May 15, 1937 in Cabarrus County to the late John Cecil and Ethel Viola Fink Lentz. She was a longtime member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Melvin Blalock, son, Timothy Melvin Blalock, daughter, Wanda Renee Blalock, brother, Johnny Lentz and sister, Ruth Rabon.
She is survived by her children, Cindy Blalock Almond of Norwood, Gloria Blalock Freeman (Dennis) of Norwood and Rodney Blalock (Linda) of Locust. Five grandchildren, Amber Reynolds (Paul), Derrick Almond (Danielle), Jeremy Blalock, Katie Hartsell and Savannah Dowdey (Clay). Nine great-grandchildren, Nick Reynolds (Isabel), Nathan Reynolds, Allyson Almond (Christian), Daniel Almond, Lane Almond, Cohen Blalock, Ella Strange, Elias Almond and Whit Almond. One great-great-grandaughter, Faline Reynolds and two more are expected soon.
When not at the funeral home the family will gather at her daughter Cindy Almond’s home.
