Linda Howell

Linda Thompson Howell, 79, of Monroe died Saturday afternoon, February 10, 2024.

A visitation will be held from 6:30 until 7:30 Tuesday evening, February 13, 2024 in the parlor of First Baptist Church, 109 Morrow Ave., Monroe, NC 28112, and a visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at 12:30 in the fellowship hall of Concord United Methodist Church, 327 Concord Church Road, Wadesboro, NC 28170.

Linda was born August 30, 1944 in Stanly County to the late Raymond and Juanita Maner Thompson. She was a 1962 graduate of Norwood High School and attended Appalachian State Teachers College. 

She married the late M.C. Howell, Jr. on May 19, 1961.

She was a devoted wife, mother, and Gammy who is survived by four children: Tripp Howell, Missy Howell, Melanie Howell, and Monica Howell McGinniss (Jim) all of Monroe, three  grandchildren: Megan, Braxton and Luke McGinniss, and one sister, Rickie Trull (Jimmy) of Albemarle.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
