Libby Surratt Parnell

Libby Ann (Surratt) Parnell, 71, of Trinity, formerly of Albemarle, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2025. 

The family will receive friends from 1:00PM -3:00PM Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood.  

 Born March 16, 1953 in Oakland, California, she grew up in Norwood, NC. She worked many years at Fast Stop in New London, Millingport and Albemarle. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lois Esther (Honeycutt) Surratt and Clyde Melvin Surratt, Sr.; sisters, Linda Faye Surratt and Mary Morris; brothers, Clyde Melvin Surratt, Jr., and Larry Martin Smith; husbands, John Wayne Alexander (Hartsville, SC), Wallace Armstrong Morris (Troy, NC) and Miles Glenn Parnell (Albemarle, NC).

 Libby lived a simple life and loved her family and friends deeply. She was a lover of all animals. She enjoyed reading, crafting, fishing, taking trips to the mountains and the beach.

 She is survived by brothers John Wayne Surratt, Sr. (Judy) of Ladson, SC, and Rodney Lee Surratt (Rosa) of New London, NC. Daughter, Melissa Dean (James) of Trinity and sons, David Wayne Alexander of Albemarle and Wallace Lee Morris of Norwood, 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
