Leon Fowler

Leon Fowler, 82, of Locust passed away Monday afternoon, December 19, 2022 at Forrest Oakes in Albemarle.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM, Monday, December 26, 2022 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Norwood. Mr. Mitchell Fowler will officiate.  

Leon was born February 22, 1940 in Horry County, SC to the late Melvin Leo and Dora Bane Fowler.  He was a truck driving instructor, a job he really enjoyed.  He was a member of Carolina Presbyterian Church in Locust.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two daughters, Debra Lynn Fowler Gunter and Roxanne Denise Fowler Maddry; one sister, Sally Crutchfield.

He is survived by his wife, Radine Parkhurst Fowler of the home; son, Brian Leon Fowler of Mooresville; daughter Amanda Gail Fowler of Locust; grandchildren, Jennifer and Gregory Gunter, Derrick and Joey Maddry and Atlee Galvan; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, David Mitchell Fowler of Pine Bluff; Michael Fowler of Knoxville, TN; two sisters, Daisy Mae Barber of Aberdeen and Mary Ann Matthews of Sanford.
