Lee Williams Thompson, 78, of Norwood passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Trinity Place in Albemarle.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 10, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Norwood. Rev. Larry Woodall will officiate and burial will follow in Norview Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Edwards Funeral Home.
Lee was born April 17, 1945 in Anne Arundel County, MD to the late Lawrence Elliott and Anna Louise Jones Williams. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and worked for many years for the County of Stanly, having worked at the Agri Civic Center, Tax office and the airport. Lee loved her family. She enjoyed visits from all of her nieces and nephews and all the children in the family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benny A. Thompson and sister, Sue Woodall.
She is survived by her brother, Larry Williams of MD; brothers in law, Terry (Clara) Thompson of Norwood and Gerald (Pat) Thompson of Charlotte; sisters in law, Hilda Mabry and Judy Thompson of Norwood; nephews, Larry (Nancy) Woodall, Scott Woodall (Tonya), Jonathan Woodall (Jennifer), Jeff Williams (Emily) and nieces, Leanna Presnell, and Lisa Miltevic; nephews by marriage, Roger (Mendy) Mabry and Aaron(Season) Mabry; numerous great nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank those who have helped assist with Lee’s care, Rachel Kesler, Vondale Mabry, Debbie Marlitt, Pat Long, Judy Thompson, Brenda Cranford, Pam Powers, Debbie Davis, Ann Sides Horton, Roger Mabry, Aaron Mabry, Larry Woodall, Jonathan Woodall, Hilda Mabry, Clara Thompson, Terry Thompson and the staffs of Trinity Place and Tillery Compassionate Care.
