Landon Austin

Landon Ray Austin, 34, of Norwood, passed away Wednesday afternoon, February 24, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00PM on Monday March 1, 2021 at Red Cross Baptist Church. Pastor Jesse Herring will officiate, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church. The funeral home will be open on Sunday February 28, 2021 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM for family and friends to come by and pay their respects.

Landon was born April 1, 1986 in Mecklenburg County to Allen Ray Austin and Debra Ann Churchill.  He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Finance and Accounting degree.  He was co-owner of All Truss, LLC in Mt Gilead.  

Landon was baptized in 2018 and became a member of Red Cross Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.  He was a caring and loving young man with a big heart. His smile and laugh were  contagious.  He was the life of the party, prankster and jokester, especially with children. He was an entrepreneur with large goals and dreams that he always achieved.   He loved to work and start projects with his wife and also enjoyed being outside spending time with her and their pups.   He was an amazing husband to Kodi and a loyal friend to all that knew him.  

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Kodi Smith Austin of the home; sister, Kara Brittany Austin of Charlotte; maternal grandmother, Louise Churchill of Pawling, NY, maternal grandfather, Walter Churchill and wife, Sissy of Locust; mother in law and father in law, Tina and Terry Smith of Norwood; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is also survived by his special friends, Derek and Hallie Lambert and their children, Lillie, Ollie and Wylie that he loved dearly.  He will be missed by his furry friends, Aria and Binx.
