Kevin Morton

Kevin Duane Morton, 50, of Norwood passed away, Thursday afternoon, October 21, 2021 at his home.  

A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM, Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Memorial Baptist Church in Norwood.  Dr. Josh Phillips will officiate.  For those unable to attend, the service will be live streamed on Memorial Baptist Church Facebook page. 

Kevin was born July 3, 1971 in Anson County to Lillie Burr Morton who survives and the late Roy Thomas Morton.  He was a 1990 graduate of Anson Senior High School.  He was employed with Pee Dee Electric Membership Corporation with 29 years of service.  Kevin loved his job as a lineman and enjoyed working with his fellow employees.  

Kevin was an active member of Memorial Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon and was also active with the youth program, mission trips, Bible school and ski trips. 

Kevin had a servant's heart, he loved working with youth, helping people in need and most of all he loved sharing God’s word.  He loved his family and enjoyed being outside with them. Kevin fought a good fight and in his words, “My battle was someone else's blessing.”

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 27 years, Sandra Steele Morton of the home; sons, Kolby Morton and his wife, Courtney, Luke Morton and Seth Morton; brothers, Rodney Morton and Randy Morton; step-brothers, Jason Miller and Dennis Miller; his in laws, Bivens and Dorothy Steele; his brother in law, Bivens Steele, Jr. and his wife, Amy;  nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
