Julia Adams Clark 85 of Troy died Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Hospice Haven in Rockingham.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Hamer Creek Baptist Church, Mt. Gilead. Rev. Rupert Medford and Rev. Danny VunCannon will officiate and interment will follow in Forks of Little River Baptist Church Cemetery in Troy. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Monday Evening at Edwards Funeral Home in Mt. Gilead.
Julia was born January 3, 1938 in Anson County to the late Ernest Jerome and Glennie Hough Adams. She was a 1956 graduate of Morven High School where she was an exceptional basketball player having her jersey retired when she graduated. She retired as owner and operator of her cleaning business and following retirement was a substitute teacher for many years with Montgomery County Schools.She was a member of Forks of Little River Baptist Church.
Julia was a wonderful cook and made beautiful cakes for the public. She was never idle and enjoyed embroidery and made beautiful quilts but her favorite pastime was spending “Granny Love Time” with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Suzie Humphries Bradford (Doyle) of Franklin, TN, Gail Humphries Bruton (Danny) of Mt. Gilead and Jane Humphries Ponds of Southport. One sister, Juanita Adams of Dunwoody, GA. Step-Children, Neal Clark (Carolyn), Michael Clark (Julie) and Melissa Dunn (Bobby) all of Troy. 14 Grandchildren and 11 Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years J. R. Clark Jr. and her brothers and sister, Ernest Jerome Adams Jr, Harvey Adams, Larry Adams and Jo Adams Rao.
