Christine was born November 17, 1945 in Anson County to Claude and Elease Cook. She graduated from Wadesboro High School in 1963 and married Jerry Von Thompson in 1966. They were married for 53 years before Jerry’s passing in 2019.
Christine fiercely loved her husband, children and grandchildren. She taught her children to be determined, get an education, and to work hard to create a good life for themselves. She valued education, earning a bachelor’s degree in human services from Gardner-Webb University and a master’s degree in counseling from NC A&T University during the 1990s. She worked many years in human services jobs that served people in Montgomery County and surrounding communities. Christine was very artistic and inspired others with her love of crafts like quilting, painting, sewing, and cross-stitching.
She is survived by daughters Yvonne King (Billy) of Wake Forest, NC; Jennifer Aminuddin (Norman) of Crozet, VA; and Jacquelyn Price (Rev. Richard) of Rocky Mount, NC; her son Jacob Thompson of Thornton, CO; grandchildren Elise King, William King, Andrew King, Luke Aminuddin, Claire Aminuddin, Mia Aminuddin, Ethan Price, Caleb Price, and Hannah Price; a sister, Doris Marsh, of Ludowici, GA; brother-in-law Dale Thompson (Sharon) of Mt. Gilead, NC; and sister-in-law Marie Hannah (Gene) of Chiefland, FL and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Christine is preceded in death by 6 sisters Joyce Alexander, Betty Rose Bridges, Brenda Johnson, Maxine Roberts, Bobbie Stephens, and infant sister Vivian Cook and her brother Dennis Cook.
