Joyce Riggsbee Starnes

Joyce Starnes passed away at home Saturday, April 29th 2023 surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 75.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Norwood. Interment will follow at Norwood cemetery. Buck Moore will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Starnes was born March 08, 1948 to the late Thomas Jackson, and Ella Riggsbee. She worked in the textile industry for most of her working life.

Joyce is preceeded in death by her parents, brother: David Riggsbee, grandson: Justin Michael Griffin, granddaughter: Cecilia Ann Griffin, great grand son: Hunter Dean Perry, and her sister in laws: Ruth and Reba Starnes, and Alice Austin. 

She is survived by her husband, Bobby Ray Starnes, children: Cindy and Larry Griffin, Bobby and Tobie Starnes, and Joseph Starnes, grandchildren: Jason Griffin, April Elizabeth Griffin, and Tristen Starnes,. She is also survived by her many brothers and sisters.                                                                                                                                        

Joyce was a compassionate person who loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. Joyce was a collector of dolls. Mrs. Starnes also loved spending time at the beach and the mountains.
