John Miller

John Shankle Miller 72 of Norwood died Thursday Evening, January 21, 2021 at the VA Medical Center in Salisbury.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00PM Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Norview Gardens. Rev. Julie Hill will officiate followed by full military honors.

John was born November 17, 1948 in Stanly County to the late Guy and Elizabeth Shankle Miller. He was a veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam war. He was a member of Norwood First Presbyterian Church and was a retired salesman.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years Mary Boyd Blalock Miller. One son, Chris Miller and his wife Ashley of Weddington. Two grandchildren, Nettie and J.T. Miller. One sister Virginia Miller Hathcock of Albemarle.

He was preceded in death by his sister Mary Elizabeth Hatley and his brother Larry “Mule” Miller.
