John Benjamin Jordan, 87, of Albemarle, passed away on January 31, 2025. He was born on November 5, 1937, to the late Milton Jordan and Justee Williams Jordan.
A funeral service will be held at Resurrection Community Church on Monday, February 10, 2025 at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service.
John spent many years working for the New York DMV before moving to North Carolina, where he became self-employed as a landscaper. He also had a passion for working on cars, which he enjoyed as a hobby. He also enjoyed fishing, farming, and spending time with his loved ones.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wives: Dorothy Jordan, and Maxine Jordan, his brothers: Clinton Jordan, Gerald Jordan, and Willie Jordan; his sisters, Amanda Bland, Mary Jordan, and Emma Burdette; his son, Melvin Jordan; his daughter, Delores Jordan; and a special friend of 25 years, Mae Francis Colson.
John is survived by his children: Tony Jordan, Preston Jordan, Johnny Jordan, Donnell Jordan, William Jordan, Doris Graham, Yvonne Simpkins, Yolanda Perry; step-children: Kim Ponds, Tammy Jackson, and Rodger Snuggs. He also leaves behind his brother, Milton Jordan Jr.; his sister, Ida Hickson; a loving legacy of 39 grandchildren, 74 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
