Joe Coy Hamilton

Joe Coy Hamilton, 91, of Mt. Gilead, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday September 12, 2019.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church.  Rev. Stephen Jarman and Rev. Reece English will officiate, and burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors.

Mr. Hamilton was born April 4, 1928, in Montgomery County, to the late Henry Columbus and Rosa Deaton Hamilton. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.  He retired from the military and worked in textiles after his retirement.  He was an avid golfer, loved to work in his garden and loved to travel. He will be missed by his constant companion, his dog - Sissy.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Elsie Robinson Hamilton, brothers and a sister.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Susan Starnes and husband David of Mt. Gilead and granddaughter, Caitlin Starnes.

The family would like to thank his caregivers: Ellen Wall, Fannie Morman, and Betty Patterson for their loving care.
