Joann Hildreth Kime, 87, of Wadesboro passed away Tuesday evening, September 10, 2024.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Sharon Cemetery in Mt. Gilead. Rev. Tony Hancox will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Edwards Funeral Home in Mt. Gilead.
Joann was born in Anson County on March 4, 1937 to the late William and Ruby Keziah Hildreth. She retired as owner and operator of Jo’s Fashion Outlet in Holden Beach. Joann was also a member of Lilesville Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Chester Kime Jr.
She is survived by her son, Lorne Kime of Mt. Gilead; daughter Sherry Phelps of Candor; six grandchildren: David Scott, Summer Phelps, Alexa Phelps, Tristen Phelps, Aaron Phelps, and Patrick Bready, seven great-grandchildren: Kameron Scott, Millie Scott, Ahriya Lewis, Madelyn Phelps, Kenley Milligan, PJ Bready, and Sahkai Lewis, two sisters:Christa Canipe (Marvin) of Morven, and Freida Johnson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
