Jessie Bowles Jr.

Jessie Ray Bowles Jr. 80, of Mt. Gilead passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025 at Atrium Health Cabarrus. 

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home in Mt. Gilead. 

Jessie was born on September 6, 1944 in Montgomery County to the late Jessie Ray Bowles Sr. and Leatha Bailey Bowles. He worked as owner and operator of JRB&J Knitting. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife: Sadie Greene Bowles, brother: Jasper Bowles, his sisters: Frances Sasser, and Linda Lee.

He is survived by his children: Bryan Bowles (Beverly), Marty Richardson (Wayne), and Becky Hamilton, his brothers: Marvin Bowles, Lane Bowles, and Jim Bowles, sisters: Betty Underwood, and Judy Maness, grandchildren: Heather Blevins (Kenny), Nicholas Richardson, Emily Richardson, Jordyn Reynolds, Brittney Sheffield (Casey), Christopher Hamilton (Ashton), Samantha Morton (Garrett), Daniel Bowles, and Conner Bowles, great grandchildren: Miles Sheffield and Indie Sheffield, and his business partner of 44 years Joyce Sedberry (Jerry).
