Jenell Kendall

Jenell Broadaway Kendall, 88, of Norwood, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Bruce Kittleson and Rev. Alex Willoughby will officiate and burial will follow at Cottonville Baptist Church cemetery. The family will greet friends in Cottonville Baptist Church Fellowship Hall following the graveside service at the church. Family and friends are also welcomed to pay their respects and sign the register on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Edwards Funeral Home from 1:00 to 5:00PM.

Mrs. Kendall was born in Anson County on September 03, 1932 to the late Eardy Ray and Ressie Parker Broadaway.  She was a retired Stanly County School worker and a member of Cottonville Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, the holidays with family and spending time with her loved ones. She volunteered at Stanly Regional Medical Center for many years and loved traveling with her late husband, Waldo.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Waldo Kendall Jr.; brothers and sisters: Harvey Broadaway, Bynum Broadaway, Alice Baucom, Polly Efird, Dwight Broadaway, and Ross Broadaway.

She is survived by her daughters: Judy Kittleson and husband Bruce of Virginia Beach, and Sarah Bailey and husband Pete of Mooresville NC; three grandchildren: Scott Kittleson, Jon Kittleson and wife Jenny, and Emily Kittleson; one great-grandson: Cooper DeBarros; sisters and brother: Ruby Pope and husband William of Polkton; Lamar Broadaway and wife Janice of Stanfield; and Nancy Huneycutt and husband Roy of Locust.
