Jeffrey “Jeff” Thomas Callahan, 68, of Oakboro passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025 at CMC Main in Charlotte.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 1:30 PM at Gleaning Mission Church. Pastor Steve Barbee will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Oakboro Cemetery.
Jeff was born on October 4, 1956 in Mecklenburg County to Cordia Mae Moore Callahan and the late Ralph Thomas Callahan Sr. He worked for Carpenter Industries, as well as Callahan Upholstery, a business started by his late grandfather, Oscar.
Jeff was a man of great faith, attending Gleaning Mission. He loved to hunt and fish, particularly at the Outer Banks. He would frequently sit on his front porch to watch the birds in his yard. Jeff would also visit Pee Dee Wildlife Refuge to pray and take in the glory of God’s creation.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Cynthia “Cindy” Callahan, sisters: Audrey Callahan Martin (Rob), Sheila Callahan Howell (Bruce), brother: Ralph Callahan Jr. (Anna), his uncles: Gerald Callahan, R. V. Moore and Billy Moore; his aunts: Helen Callahan, Betty Callahan and Margaret Moore Wilson and various nieces and nephews.
