Dorothy Jean Barbee, 94, of Norwood, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021 at her home.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, April 19, 2021. Rev. Julie Hill will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood.
Mrs. Barbee was born on March 18, 1927 to the late William Lee Sr. and Bannie Morris Ussery. She worked as a railroad agent for many years and retired from Norwood Department store. She was a life long member at Norwood First Presbyterian Church. She loved her church and her family and enjoyed spending time with her loved ones.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Glade Roscoe Barbee; her son Lamar Barbee; and brothers and sisters: Montie Lee Melton, Sara Clement, Mildred Cooper, Charlie Ussery, W.L. Ussery, Buddy Ussery, Margaret Hatley, and Carlton Ussery.
She is survived by her sons: Stuart Barbee of Norwood and Tim Barbee and wife Lynn of Wadesboro; four grandchildren: Andrew Barbee, Allison Hatley and husband Shane, Bethany Barbee, and Jake Barbee and wife Kathryn; and four great-grandchildren: Dawson, Hayden, Hinley, Holden.
