Janet Aldridge

Janet Smith Aldridge, 86, of Norwood, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, June 4, 2022.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, June 6, 2022 at Cedar Grove United Methodist Chuch. Rev. David Lowe and Rev. Mary Hatley will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday June 5, 2022 at Edwards Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00PM

Mrs. Aldridge was born on July 27, 1935 in Lincoln, England to the late Richard and Eva Eliza Levrington Smith. She retired from Collins & Aikman and was a member at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Lee Aldridge and siblings, Margaret Ringham, Basil, Sheila,  Bill Smith.

She is survived by Three daughters, Susan Aldridge Barbee (David) of Oakboro, Debbie Aldridge Kimrey (Tony) and Linda Aldridge all  of Norwood. Six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two sisters Barbara Murphy and Vera Wilson; and one brother: Bernard Smith.
