James David Lee, 81, of Wadesboro, died Wednesday morning, January 5, 2022 at his home.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, January 15, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Wadesboro. Dr. Harry Workman will officiate. The family will welcome friends at a reception after the service in the church fellowship hall.
Mr. Lee was born January 22, 1940 in Anson County to the late John Henry and Katie Carelock Lee. He was a graduate of Wadesboro High School and retired from ConMet in Monroe as Human Resources Manager. He was an active member of First Baptist Church having served as family deacon.
An active member of the community, James was a former Anson County Commissioner, Wadesboro Town Councilman, member of Wadesboro Rotary and charter member of Anson Rescue. He was a recipient of the Paul Harris Fellows Rotary award. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf and after retirement he worked for Leavitt Funeral Home. He was fortunate enough to be an extra in the movies, Color Purple, Eddie, and Leather Heads, which he really enjoyed!
James was a people person. He enjoyed being with others and helping his fellow man. He did not want accolades for his work in the community because it was his honor to be helpful.
