James Dye

James Chase Dye, 24, of Norwood, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024 at his home.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 11:00am at Freedom Holiness Church. Pastor Bryan Burris and Pastor Todd Carpenter will officiate. The family will welcome visitors at the church beginning at 10:00am prior to the service.

James was born on April 4, 2000 in Georgia to James Doyle Dye Jr. and Samantha Wilson Drake. Growing up, he enjoyed going to the beach, fishing, swimming, and playing video games. He loved to spend time with his family, friends, and animals. 

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Billy Wayne Goodman and great-grandmother, Leather Mae Chapman.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandparents: Jimmy and Sue Wilson of Norwood; paternal grandmother: Linda Goodman of Albemarle; siblings: Jeffery Daniel Dye, Amanda Goodman, and Wynter Mae Goodman; nieces and nephews: Hunter Daniel Dye, Marley Cheyanna Dye, Abigail Syble Burlseon, and Shelby Leann Tyndall; and a special aunt, Jessica Wilson Carnes.
