There is an appointed time for everything, a time for every activity under the heavens. A time for birth, James Curtis Dawes was born November 25, 1946 to his parents, Cora Artis Dawes and Matthew O. Dawes, Sr.
A time to die, James transitioned to the other side March 3, 2024.
A time to tear down and a time to build up. James Curtis and Julia Hester Little were united in a holy ceremony on January 30, 1985, and to this unity we raised many of our nieces, nephews and adopted and fostered many children. He has healed and wept from the death of his parents, brothers and a daughter, Sophia A. Brooks.
He confessed his sins and joined Cedar Creek Baptist Missionary Church under the leadership of pastor George Lewis, Sr and remained a faithful member until illness. He was a member of the trustee board.
James found enjoyment in his work and provided for his family.
To enjoy the memories of James is his wife of 39 years, Julia L. Dawes and his children we consider our own, Shelia N. McCaskill, Carrie Nichell(Darrel) Lindsey, Lucinda Little, Quinesha Little, Phylicia West, Chavis Minor, David L.
