Jacob Burleson

Paul Jacob Burleson, 30, of Locust, passed away Monday June 6, 2022 at his home.

No services are scheduled at this time.

Jacob was born September 14, 1991 in Mecklenburg County.  He was preceded in death by his father, Paul James Burleson.  He is survived by his mother Jennifer Surratt(Tony Cagle)  of Albemarle. He was a 2009 graduate of West Stanly High School and was employed by Camping World of Concord.  He enjoyed attending Porter Baptist Church and hearing Dr. Kinney Wallace preach.

Jacob was considered an “old soul”.   He had a big heart and was tenderhearted.  He enjoyed picking around with his family and friends. He loved music and especially playing his banjo. It was said the best song to describe him was ‘Broken Window Serenade’ by Whiskey Myers. 

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brothers, Matthew Burleson of Locust and Nash Cagle of Albemarle; sister, Sadie Cagle of Albemarle; grandparents, Diane Surratt of Oakboro, Billy Surratt of Oakboro, J. D. & Joyce Burleson of Locust and Lewis & Bobbie Cagle of Albemarle; great grandmother, Jewel Burleson of Locust; and his dog, Rose.
