Jack Reid

Jack Douglas Reid, 82, of Norwood passed away Saturday morning, January 18, 2025.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Baptist Church. Dr. Josh Phillips and Dr. Bill Coleman will officiate and interment will follow at Norview Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church. 

Jack was born December 20, 1942 in Stanly County to the late Austin and Joyce Lefler Reid. He graduated from Norwood High School in 1961 and attended Kings College and NC State University. He also served in the Army Reserves. He was a faithful member of Memorial Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, was active on the building and grounds committee, and the renovation of the sanctuary. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Maxine Atkinson Reid.

He is survived by his daughter Tiffany Reid Coleman (Bill) of Concord;  two grandchildren Austin Coleman (Claire) and Alaina Coleman(Austin White); Maxines children: Stan Thompson (Samantha), Amy Smith (Jimmy), and Renee Smith.
