Hubert Anthony Lilly, 57, passed away at Green Valley Medical Center in Greensboro, on January 07, 2021.
A private service will be held on Sunday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with interment in McAuley Memorial Gardens in Mt. Gilead.
Hubert Anthony Lilly (Andy) was born June 4, 1963 in Montgomery County, NC. He was formerly educated in Montgomery County, Hampton, Va., but graduated from Albemarle High School, class of 1983.
Anthony went into the military after high school, he worked at C&A in Albemarle, before moving to Raleigh, NC, where he worked side by side with his older brother, Everette, at Lilly’s Fireplaces. Anthon enjoyed fishing and looking at oldie but goodie movies. He attended Victory Temple Church. Anthony’s health began to fail him and he resided at Bethany Woods Nursing Facility, and passed away at Green Valley Medical Center in Greensboro, NC.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Everette D. Lilly; grandparents, Claude and Jennie Mae Medley; and paternal grandparents, Archie and Gertrude Leake.
Anthony is survived by his mother and father, Elder Joe Ann and Elder James A. Medley, Sr. of Norwood; paternal parent, Rayford C. Leake of Washington, DC; two daughters, Shayetta (Sky)D. Lilly of Albemarle and Shekiah D. Lilly of Raleigh, NC. In addition, he is survived by: sisters, Trilla Richardson (Gerard) of Norwood, Carmelita Eaton (Ronnie) of Albemarle, Betty Medley of Greensboro, Raicee Leake of Washington, DC, and Josephine Cockrell (Luther); brothers, James Medley, Jr. “Peter Rabbit” of Albemarle, Pipino Leake (Karina) of Washington,DC, Avery Leake (Kimeshia) of Washington, DC, and Andre’ McRae; grandmother, Betty (Boots) Lilly of Betthany Woods Nursing Facility; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
