Hollis Davis Sr.

Hollis Grant Davis Sr., 85, of Norwood, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at his home.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Norview Gardens with Father Peter Fitzgibbons officiating. Mr. Davis will lie in state on Friday, December 17, 2021 from 1:00PM to 4:00PM at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood.

Mr. Davis was born on October 6, 1936 in Union County to the late Elvin Parks and Christine Horne Davis. He was a retired truck driver for Mountaire Farms and a member at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church. He was a veteran of the US Marines for 15 years and served in Vietnam.

In addition to his parents,  he is preceded in death by his wife, Sonia Alayo`n Davis; grandson, Morgan S. Gaddy;  two brothers, Wayne and Ted Davis; and sister,  Joan Harris.

He is survived by his children,  Hollis Davis Jr., Dr. Elizabeth Davis Snow, and Lourdes Davis Yarbrough (Ronnie), all of Norwood; one sister, Pam Davis Ridenhour (Steve) of Richfield; and three grandchildren: Matthew Davis, Thomas Yarbrough, and Caleb Yarbrough.
