Hazel Blake

Hazel Jenkins Blake, 85, of Mount Gilead, passed away early Tuesday morning, August 15, 2023 at First Health Hospice in Pinehurst.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Dwight Mabry will officiate. 

Mrs. Blake was born on October 25, 1937 to the late Benjamin and Mary Haywood Jenkins. She was a retired sewer and a member at Blackwoods Chapel Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Dewey Swaringen and Don Blake; one sister and four brothers. 

She is survived by her sons: Ronnie Swaringen and Darrell Swaringen, both of Ellerbe; granddaughters: Heather Swaringen and Amanda Cloninger; three great-grandchildren: Tyler, Bristol, and Harper; and brother, Robert Jenkins.
