Hartsell Lee Osborne Kendall “Lea” died July 9 at Trinity Place in Albemarle, NC.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM at Green Memorial Methodist Church Cemetery on Saturday, October 5, 2024.
Lea was born in Stanly County on July 3, 1935, to Ruth Hartsell Osborne and Gaston Lee Osborne. She graduated from A.L. Brown High School in 1953 and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Central Piedmont Community College. She lived most of her life in Charlotte, NC until she and her husband moved back to Stanly County to retire and made their home in Cottonville. She was an active member of Green Memorial Methodist Church and served the church in many jobs. She worked at Presbyterian Hospital, Home Health Care, and most recently as a nurse in the State Prison System. Lea also enjoyed being a homemaker, working in her garden, sewing, and cooking. She was also active in animal welfare and volunteered with Stanly County Humane Society.
Lea is survived by one son, Rell Kendall, Jr. of Charlotte, NC, two sisters, Nancy May of Suwanee, GA and Vicki Koontz of Chapel Hill, NC.
She is predeceased by her husband, Rell Kendall, and son Joseph Kendall.
