Obituary
Harold Junior Lynthacum 85 of Mt. Gilead died Thursday Afternoon, September 15, 2022 at his home.
Graveside Services will be held at 4:00 PM Monday, September 19, 2022 at Sharon Cemetery. Pastor Chip McAulay will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2:45 until 3:45 Monday Afternoon at the funeral home.
Harold was born July 4, 1937 in Montgomery County to the late Jonah and Mary Wilson Lynthacum. He was a retired Painter and a member of First Baptist Church of Biscoe.
Harold was an accomplished musician who was able to play most all stringed instruments. He especially enjoyed playing bluegrass and gospel music. He was the #1 Banjo picker for years. Harold enjoyed sharing his gift of music in churches, nursing homes and with his friends.
He is survived by his friend and companion of many years Ina Safrit of Mt. Gilead. His children, Kitty Hamilton and Stephen Lynthacum both of South Florida. Two sisters, Joann Hall (Keith) of Biscoe and Sara Smith of Albemarle. One brother, Roy Lynthacum of Tennessee and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister and brother, Lois Doby and Curtis “Doc” Lynthacum.
