Eugene Watkins Obituary

Eugene Watkins, 82, of Norwood, died Tuesday morning, July 28, 2020 at his home.

A private celebration of life service will be held on Friday, July 31, 2020 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Watkins was born April 5, 1938 in Stanly County to the late Slade and Wilma Willoughby Watkins. He was a printer with US Airways.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Ervin & S. L. Watkins, son in law, James A. Owens; children, Ricky D. Owens, James C. Brown “Pee Wee” and Christopher Brown.

He is survived by daughters, Diana Brown, and Wilma Owens; sons, Eugene Brown and Lloyd Brown (Brenda); sister, Eleanor W. Carpenter and sister in law, Betty Lou Watkins; 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; Close friends, George (Sonny) Deberry, Will Watkins and Melvin Watkins.
