Ervin Mauldin

The family of Ervin P Mauldin of Norwood is saddened to announce his passing on March 6, 2025, at the age of 92 years old. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, March 10, 2025 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Norwood. Rev. Mike Lisk will officiate and interment will follow in Norwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. 

Ervin, who was born on September 5, 1932, was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Beulah Mauldin; his brothers James, Rufus, Sammy Lee, and Larry Mauldin; his sisters Helen Caudle, Betty, Craig, and Martha Evelyn Mauldin.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews; his special nephews Todd, Scott, Chris, and Pat Mauldin who made life so much fun for him. 

Following graduation from Norwood High School in 1953, and following his stint in the US Army, Ervin returned to his native Stanly County and began a lifetime of working. He worked at Young’s Manufacturing and at Norwood ABC store for 27 years, where he was one the original employees. He loved meeting new people and getting to know everyone. 

Ervin had a passion for genealogy. He spent many, many years on research and on the road traveling and writing and publishing the Mauldin family history, which includes numerous families in surrounding areas. He loved to travel with his nephews and riding horses.  His greatest loves were people, visiting with friends, cooking, and sharing memories and funny stories with his friends. He will be remembered for his kindness, love of family and friends, and his dedication to his Lord and Savior. Ervin will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.
