Elvene (Whitley) McSwain

Elvene Whitley McSwain 90 of Norwood died Sunday Evening, October 21, 2018 .

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 27, 2018 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Todd McSwain will officiate and interment will follow in Cedar Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Thursday Evening at the funeral home.

Elvene was born July 24, 1928 in Stanly County to the late Thomas Green and Fannie Nash Whitley. She was a retiree of Collins and Aikman of Norwood.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Alvaretta McSwain Poole.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years Roy V. McSwain of the home. One son Jephthah McSwain of the home. One son-in-law Sparky Poole of Norwood. One grandson, Tim Poole (Erica) of New London and two great-grandchildren, Carden and Carly. Two sisters, Catherine Morton of Norwood and Lavene Mabry of Albemarle. One brother, Gerald Whitley of Catawba.
