Ella Butt

Ella Jane Bennett Butt, 83, of Norwood passed away on Friday evening April 25, 2025 at her home. 

A memorial service will be held at a later date. 

Ella was born on June 22, 1941 to the late Robert Lee and Verda Adams Bennett. She retired as a clerk from RJ Reynolds. 

Ella was a caring and kind person. She had a servant’s heart and enjoyed being able to provide for others, especially her children and grandchildren. Ella took pleasure in giving gifts to all she loved. She enjoyed traveling to the beach and shopping at Belks. Ella will also be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings: JD Bennett, Alfred Bennett, Eldon Bennett, James Bennett, and Ronal Bennett. 

She is survived by her husband, Nelson Butt of the home, her children: Jerry Bennett (Rosa), Michelle Poole (Greg), and Monty Brown (Bridget), her siblings: Claiborn Bennett, and Clara Barr, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
