Doug Poplin

Gary Douglas ‘Doug’ Poplin, 73, of Norwood, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2021 at Atrium Health Hospice House Union.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Green Memorial United Methodist Church. Rev. David Lowe will officiate. 

Mr. Poplin was born on October 3, 1947 to the late Carl McKenny and Melinda Eudy Poplin. He graduated from South Stanly High School in 1965 and was a United States Air Force Veteran. He was a retired truck driver and a member at Green Memorial United Methodist Church. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Gene McKenny Poplin and step-son Darrell McRae.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Austin Poplin of Norwood; brother Dale Poplin and wife Pam of Norwood; step-daughter Erika McRae; and nieces Karanda and Makayla Poplin.
