Dorothy Blalock

Dorothy Hanna Blalock, 81, of Albemarle, passed away Friday, July 21, 2023 at Trinity Place.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Edward Funeral Home . Pastor Kevin Munson will officiate and interment will follow at Norview Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday, July 24, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home.

Mrs. Blalock was born on March 29, 1942 to the late Tyler and Ethel Morris Hanna. She worked for over 30 years with Christian Ministries and was a faithful member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. 

Dorothy was a beloved member of the community. Anywhere she would go, she would always see a familiar face. The impact, legacy, and love of Christ she leaves behind, will continue to shine throughout her friends and family. The Lord and her family gave her strength throughout her life, especially during her final days. Her love and passion for Jesus Christ  will be deeply missed by her family, church, and friends. 

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jessica Lee; brothers and sisters: Tommy, Diane, Patsy, Betty, Judy, Bobby, and Billy. 

She is survived by her children, Herbert Lee Jr. ‘Herby’ of Concord, Darlene Franklin and husband Danny of Polkton, and Sandy Kuchenbrod and husband Brian of Albemarle; seven grandchildren: Christopher Lee and wife Kristen, Erica Lee, Heather Lee, Daniel Franklin, Shandy Huneycutt and husband Joshua, Brandon Blalock, and Landon Kuchenbrod; nine great-grandchildren; and her brother, Tony Hanna.
