Donnie Harward

Roy Donald “Donnie” Harward, 79, of Stanfield, passed away Monday, September 6, 2021 at home with his wife and family by his side.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM, Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Porter Community Cemetery in Norwood.  Rev. Jim Yow and Rev. Jim White will officiate.  Mr. Harward will lie in state at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood Thursday morning from 9:00AM - 1:00PM, where friends are welcome to pay their respects.  

Donnie was born September 1, 1942 in Stanly County to the late Roy Harward, Jr. and Mary Estelle Kimrey Harward.  He was a self-employed contractor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nina Joyce Biles Harward; brother, Keith Harward and sister, Patsy Harward Gregory.

He is survived by his wife, Vickie Yow Harward of the home; daughter, Wendy Harward of Norwood, sons, Chris Harward (Susan) of Norwood and Jeff Harward(P. J.) of Mooresville; sister, Brenda Harward Wilson of Wadesboro; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; step-daughters, Amy Floyd of Stanfield, and April (Kevin) Athey of Lexington, and  stepson, Ashley(Jennie) Furr of Stanfield; six step grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren.
