Donald Carpenter

William Donald Carpenter, 83, of Albemarle, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood. 

Donald was born on January 27, 1942 in Stanly County to the late Johnny Alexander and Margie Harris Carpenter. He retired from Propst Construction and was a member at Mountain View Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Bob Carpenter, Burt Carpenter, and Gypsie Chapman. 

He is survived by his wife, Hilda Bailey Carpenter of the home ; Ronnie Carpenter (Pat) of Norwood and Lori Tavera (Torrence Drye) of Albemarle; five grandchildren: Brandi Carpenter (Kyle), Brandon Carpenter, David Carpenter (Kensey), Veronica Woodard (Alex), and Vanessa Tavera; and 13 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to be made to Mountain View Baptist Church.
