Dean Sides Obituary
Franklin Dean Sides, 68, of Mount Gilead, passed away, Tuesday morning, February 16, 2021 at his home.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Sharon Cemetery in Mount Gilead. Pastor Kong Namkung will officiate. Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects at Edwards Funeral Home in Mount Gilead on Friday, February 26, 2021 from 2:00PM to 5:00PM.
Dean was born September 18, 1952 in Mecklenburg County, NC to the late Preston Franklin and Edna Belle Haywood Sides. He was a 1971 graduate of West Montgomery High School. Following graduation, he worked for Honda of Rockingham before joining his father and brother in the family business, Sides Farms. He was a member of the Farm Service Committee of Richmond County. He was member of First United Methodist Church, Mount Gilead.
He was a lifetime NASCAR fan and avid gun collector. He enjoyed spending times with his friends and hunt club members.
In is survived by his brother, Preston Eugene Sides and wife, Lydia, and their son Gregory Haywood Sides all of Mount Gilead.
