David Tyson

David Carroll Tyson, 74, of Norwood passed away Saturday evening, July 29th, 2023 at his home. 

A graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at 4:00 PM at Stoney Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Dwight Mabry will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service. 

David was born November 22, 1948 to the late Marvin and Lucille Crump Tyson. He was a US Army Veteran and a member of Stoney Fork Baptist Church. David loved the outdoors, especially working in his garden. He was a fisherman, and enjoyed fishing in a lake, creek, or out on the deep sea.  He retired from Collins & Aikman, Albemarle, NC.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Barringer Tyson, and sons: Terry and Timothy Deese.

He is survived by his sons: Tony Barringer (Loretta) of Mt. Gilead, and Tracy Deese (Robin) of Albemarle, brother Gary Tyson (Linda) of Norwood, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and his faithful companion, Diesel.
