David Cotton Obituary
David Lee Cotton 74 of Mt. Gilead passed away Friday, January 1, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Charlotte.
A private service will be held at a later date.
David was born in Parkton, NC on February 22, 1946 to the late Reverend Worth B. Cotton and Alice VonCannon Cotton.
David worked in manufacturing until retirement. He loved hunting, fishing and gardening, David loved his family and enjoyed traveling to the outer banks with his brothers and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years Esther Smith Cotton of the home. His children, Donald W. Cotton of Seagrove, Amy Cotton Roberts of Mt. Gilead and Erin Cotton Burris and husband Chris of Troy. His siblings, Solon F. Cotton and wife Anita of Monroe, Paul Cotton and wife Lorraine of Wilmington, Margaret C. Foote and husband Al of New Bern, NC. Nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother Worth B. Cotton Jr.
