Danny Bowers

Danny C. Bowers, 78, of Norwood passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at his home, surrounded by his loved ones. 

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Rev. Nile Sandeen, and David Thomas will officiate. Interment will follow at Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity in Mt. Pleasant. 

Danny was born on January 26, 1948 to the late D.C and Annie Louise Page Bowers. He graduated from South Stanly High School as part of the Class of 1966, and went on to serve our nation’s military from 1968 until 1970 in the army. He was stationed at Fort Belvoir Army Air Base in Alexandria, VA. After serving, Danny went on to work with the NCDOT for over 30 years before retiring. He then went on to work for 12 years for Barbara Mulkey Engineering in road and bridge construction. Danny enjoyed fishing, especially on Lake Tillery. He also had a love for golf in his spare time, as well as hunting.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother-in-law: Steven Howell.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirley Barrier Bowers, son Jeffrey Bowman Bowers (Mary Lou), daughter Leah Katherine Morrison (Paul), four grandsons: Ben F. Bowers, Will B. Bowers (Taylor), Daniel P. Morrison (Sarah), and Chase H. Morrison, brothers: Randy W. Bowers (Susie), Tony R. Bowers (Ann), and Kenny M. Bowers (Debra), and his sister Monny Lisa Howell.
