Dalvin ‘Duke’ Akeem Watkins, 27, of Norwood, passed away Sunday June 16, 2024.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:00 PM prior to the service.
Dalvin was born on November 18, 1996 in Union County to Derrick Medley and the late Lasonja Watkins.
In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his grandmother, Barbara Clark.
He is survived by his children: Dalvin Akeem Watkins Jr., De’nae Ariell Watkins,both of Wadesboro , and Legend Adonis Watkins, of Arizona; Grandmother, Denis Watkins of Norwood; Grandfather: Eddie Williams Thomas of Jacksonville FL; Brothers: Dorantay Watkins of Wadesboro, and Davon Watkins of Norwood; Uncles and Aunts: Darris Watkins (Ericka) of St. Augustine, FL, Dajarrien Watkins of Norwood, Corey Medley of Burnsville, and Stephanie Thomas of South Carolina; Great-Uncles and Aunts: Richard Homer Watkins of Monroe, Bernard Watkins (Thomasina) of Norwood ,James McClendon, Ellis McClendon (Cassandra) all of Thomasville, Benjamin McClendon, Mammie McLendon, Thelma Clark, Michelle McClenodon, all of Albemarle, Rose Davis (Larry) of Norwood, Michael Medley (Pam) of Kingston, Lula Medley (Robert) of Mt Gilead, and Ruby Medley of Burnsville; and special friends, Greg and Shirley Biles of Norwood and Mr. and Mrs. Jahan Melton, all of Norwood; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
