Curtis Eugene Blake, 92, of Norwood passed away early Wednesday morning, May 12, 2021 at Trinity Place in Albemarle.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM, Friday, May 14, 2021 at Blackwood Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Candor. Rev. Josh Phillips will officiate.
Mr. Blake was born September 17, 1928 in Montgomery County to the late Sanky and Janie Morton Blake. He was a Veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War. Curtis worked with his father in construction for many years and then went on to work and retire from Wade Mills, after retirement he returned to the construction industry. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, Norwood, NC.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step mother, Dale Farbee Blake; brothers, Raeford, Don, Moses, Aaron and Joe.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Kelly Blake of the home; sons, Ronnie Eugene Blake and wife, Debbie of Rockingham, Curtis Nolan Blake and wife, Gina of Fairview Heights, IL and daughter, Susan Blake Scott of Norwood; sister, Miriam Phillips of Morehead City, NC; grandchildren, Robbie Blake, Bryan Nichols, Eddie Shelly and Kelli Franklin and six great-grandchildren.
