Cletus Surratt, 68, of Polkton, passed away, Monday evening, January 3, 2022 at Atrium Health Anson.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Norwood. Rev. Mike Lisk and Rev. Larry Maner will officiate and interment will follow in Red Hill Baptist Church in Polkton, NC. The family will receive friends from one hour prior to the service at Edwards Funeral Home.
Cletus was born March 20, 1953 in Stanly County to the late Raymond Cletus Surratt, Sr. and Elgie Burleson Surratt. He was a graduate of South Stanly High School and was a retired Welding instructor from South Piedmont Community College. He was an avid musician having played music all his life. He could play guitar, mandolin, banjo and piano, he loved it all! One of his favorite things to do was to fish with his grandson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Maner Surratt and brother, Roger “Frog” Surratt.
He is survived by his daughter, April Roberts (Bryan) of Polkton and Brandon Surratt(April) of Ansonville; grandchildren, Chynna Cummings(Justin), Cason, Aubrey and Greyson Surratt; great grandchild, Sunny Cummings; sisters, Carolyn Whitley(Alvin), Margaret Colson(Ray), Teresa “Bink” Taylor(Rodney), Donna Burris(Rodney) and brother, Ernest Surratt; special friend, Agatha Loveless.
