Claudine Herrin

Dorothy Claudine Austin Herrin, 89, of Norwood passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at Trinity Place in Albemarle.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Norwood, interment in Norview Gardens. Pastor Brent Pope will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Claudine was born in Stanly County on March 1, 1935 to the late Florence Eudy and Leroy Austin. She retired from the textile industry. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Norwood as well as West Albemarle Baptist Church in Albemarle. She attended both churches faithfully for many years. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Herrin, her brothers: Vernon Austin and Steve Austin and brother-in-law Terry 'Pete' Crump. 

She is survived by her son, Tony Herrin(Carlene) of Monroe, grandchildren Josh Herrin (Mandy) of Monroe, and Jacob Herrin (Dyan) of Midland, sisters Faye Crump and Kay Smith (Eugene) great grandchildren AJ, and Alex, and sister-in-laws Carol Austin, and Sandra Austin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tillery Compassionate Care at 960 N 1st Street Albemarle, NC 28001.
