Caron Lowder

Elizabeth Caron Harward Lowder, 83, of Norwood, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2026. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Green Memorial Methodist Church. Rev. Garry Baker will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. 

Mrs. Lowder was born on June 27, 1942 in Stanly County to the late Banks Poplin and Shellie Clinton Harward. She graduated from Aquadale High School in 1960 and then  went on to graduate from Pfeiffer University. She retired from Stanly County Schools as a teacher. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Wayne Lowder and her brother Darril Harward. 

She is survived by her brothers, Jerry Harward and Roger Harward, both of Norwood; step-children: Rebecca Goforth (Donald) and Kenneth Lowder; step-grandchildren: Tyler McPherson (Jeffrey) and Samantha Thomas (RJ).
