Carla Doby

Carla Annette Luther Doby, 62, of China Grove passed away Monday evening, February 1, 2021 at Novant Health  Presbyterian in Charlotte.  

A memorial service will be held at 4:00PM, Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Gleaning Mission Church, 21413 Eighth Street, Oakboro.    Rev. Steve Barbee will officiate.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  The service will be streamed on Edwards Funeral Homes facebook page.

Carla was born February 8, 1958 in Stanly County to the late Carl Grady “Buck” Luther and Annie Ruth Smith Luther.  She was a 1976 graduate of South Stanly High School and was a graduate of Stanly Community College.  She was a Medical Assistant with Gateway Surgery Center in Concord.  Carla  was an active  member of Gleaning Mission  Church.  

Carla will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends for living her faith, her beautiful smile, the kindness she showed to others and her forgiving heart.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew, Chase Luther.

She is survived by her husband, Yancey Lee Doby of the home; son, Eric Underwood and wife, Colleen of Norwood; daughter, Reagan Underwood of Kannapolis; two granddaughters, Jade and Salem Underwood; brother, Dale Luther and wife, Franna of Roswell, GA; nephews, Cameron Luther, William and Benjamin Davies; her fur babies, Willow & Brody and her grand doggies, Judah, Bella, Buddy and Maggie.
