Buddy Aldridge

Jerry Ronald ‘Buddy’ Aldridge, 84, of Norwood, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Atrium Health Cabarrus. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 16, 2026 at Cottonville Baptist Church. Rev. Mark Little and Rev. JR Murr will officiate and interment will follow at Norview Gardens in Norwood. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Aldridge was born on September 22, 1941 in Stanly county to the late Jerry Vance and Maudie Scarboro Aldridge. He retired from Stanly Fixtures and was a member at Cottonville Baptist Church. Buddy was a giving person with a loving heart. He enjoyed woodworking and made many things for friends and family. He was a generous person and was always willing to help anyone. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Bonnie Aycock Aldridge; and siblings: Ottie Dunn, Jack Aldridge, Reece Aldridge, Robert Aldridge Lee Aldridge, Joe Aldridge.

He is survived by one son Ronny Aldridge (Bonnie) of Oakboro and one daughter Nancy Aldridge Murr (J. R.) of Norwood; four granddaughters: Kristen Gregory (Bill), Janna Johnson (Timothy), Francine Thompson (Jake) and Faith Carpenter (Matt) and four great-grandchildren, Thaddeus, Nathaniel, Elias and Lilly.
